A man who was questioned by officers for three days over the disappearance of mother of-five has been bailed by police.
The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the disappearance of Sarah Wellgreen who has been missing from her home Bazes Shaw, New Ash Green.
She has been missing since the evening of Tuesday, October 9 and earlier this week police have taped off an area of woodland as they continued to search the area near the home.
Police have been searching and carrying out investigations in the area since he was arrested in connection with her disappearance.
He still remained in custody this morning and was questioned by detectives over several days, but has now been released pending further investigation.
He was detained on Tuesday a week after the 46-year-old mother was last seen. Police with dogs and drones have also been scouring nearby countryside.
An area of woodland behind the estate where she lives has also been taped off by officers.
Earlier this week the initial 24-hour custody limit was extended so officers could continue to question the man.
It is understood officers had applied for further detention as he was in custody for almost three days.
Police would not confirm if the man was known to Miss Wellgreen or what he had been arrested on suspicion of.
Her son Lewis Burdett, 22, came back from Portsmouth after his mum's disappearance and is staying with friends in the area.
He previously told KentOnline's sister paper the Gravesend Messenger: "This behaviour is so unlike her, she’s never done anything like this before.
"The ones in my family that are probably being hurt the worst by this all are the young ones - her 12-year-old son and her other son and daughter who are both six.
"I can’t imagine how hard this must be for them to try and understand what’s going on.
"I believe I speak for all her family and friends when I say that we are all incredibly worried about her and miss her so much it hurts, all everyone wants is for her to come back from where ever she may be.
"Me and all my family and her friends urge anyone with any sort of information to come forward."
Police spokesman Andy Saunders said: "Inquiries to locate Sarah Wellgreen are continuing and anyone who may have seen her, or has any other information, is asked to call Kent Police.
The man arrested has been released on bail, pending further inquiries, until Friday, November 16.
Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 101 quoting 11-0423.
