William Chambers of Gunn Road, Swanscombe, charged with theft and assault after incident at Sainsbury's Pepper Hill in Northfleet

A Swanscombe man has been charged with theft, assault, racially aggravated assault and threatening a person with a blade at a supermarket.

William Chambers, 28, of Gunn Road, was due to face Medway magistrates yesterday following an incident in Sainsbury's Pepper Hill store in Northfleet but was unwell.

He is due to appear at court today. The alleged offences took place on Saturday, April 25.
