A MAN is due to appear in court today charged with the murder of 42-year-old Joseph Ennis, from Gravesend, who was stabbed at the Swanley Interchange on the A20 on July 4.

Francois Gilbert Christophe, 47, of Maritime Gate, Northfleet, was arrested shortly after the incident. Mr Christophe is due to appear before magistrates at Sevenoaks.

Both men were believed to be in the same car, a blue Peugeot 405, when the incident took place.

A post mortem carried out on Mr Ennis revealed that he died from multiple stab wounds.

North Kent police are still appealing for a woman who was seen walking along the A20 on July 4, at about 7.15pm to contact them.

The woman was walking along the London-bound carriageway of the A20 in a coast bound direction pulling a suitcase on wheels near to the time and location of the murder.

DI Andy Short said: “We are appealing for this woman to make contact with us as she may have seen the vehicle the two men were travelling in and have information that could be relevant to the investigation.”

The woman is asked to contact the incident room at North Kent on 01322 283109.
