Northfleet man charged after delivery driver ‘robbed’ along London Road, Gravesend

A man has been charged with kidnap after a supermarket delivery driver was reportedly robbed along a main road.

The incident happened in London Road, Gravesend, at around 8.40pm on Friday, November 10.

The victim was approached by a man who is alleged to have threatened him with a knife, before getting into the vehicle with him and stealing his wallet.

Police were alerted soon after the incident and patrols attended the scene. A suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Jimmy Lee, 35, of York Road, Northfleet, was later charged with kidnap, robbery and possession of a bladed object in a public place.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, November 11, where he was remanded to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, December 8.
