Police searching for a missing person found a man in a serious condition in woodland, who later died.

A search was launched for Jason Burgess, 41, after he was reported missing on Thursday, having last been seen at around 12.30pm in the Windsor Road area of Gravesend.

Later that evening, a man was found in a serious condition in an area of woodland off the Warren in Gravesend at around 7.55pm.

South East Coast Ambulance Service attended to provide treatment but he was declared dead at the scene.

Formal identification has not yet taken place but the family of Jason Burgess have been informed.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
