A man has been detained under the Mental Health Act after being found by police in the early hours of this morning.

Officers and the RNLI were called to the scene near to Gravesend Town Pier due to concern for the man's welfare.

Crews found the man, believed to be in his 30s, just after 1am and Gravesend lifeboat volunteers arrived shortly after 2am.
