A man has been found dead in a vehicle parked behind a supermarket.

The tragic discovery was made after police were called to Lansdown Place, Northfleet, near the back of the Co-op in Perry Street.

They arrived at the scene following a report of concern for a man in a vehicle at 3.15pm on Friday (December 8).

A witness described how the car park behind the supermarket was taped off in the aftermath, with a large number of police and forensic cars at the scene.

Officers confirmed a man in his 40s was found deceased.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
