Man in hospital following suspected assault

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital after suffering head injuries during a suspected assault.

Police were called to Harmer Street in Gravesend at 3.06am this morning (Saturday) by South East Coast Ambulance.

The emergency service reported that it was on route to a male with a possible head wound.

Police patrols also went to the scene and the area was cordoned off.

The man was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At 9.30am this morning the scene was being reopened.

Det sgt Jim Joyce of north Kent Police is leading the investigation.
