A man has been jailed for two-and-a-half years after he stabbed someone on their doorstep.
Seth Sparks, of Jubilee Crescent, Gravesend, was arrested on Wednesday, February 20 after another man was stabbed in the chest at a property Nansen Road, Gravesend, at around 10.30pm, when he answered his front door.
Sparks, 46, who was located by police officers walking away from the scene was later charged with grievous bodily harm without intent and was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday, July 18.
During the hearing the court heard how Sparks was known to the victim and had been at the property earlier in the day.
After leaving he returned later that night knocking on the front door, before stabbing the victim in the chest and walking away.
Following Sparks arrest a search of the area was conducted where the knife that was used was found by a police dog in a nearby garden.
It matched the description given by a witness as being the one Sparks had used against the victim.
Investigating officer PC Martin Taylor said: "Sparks’ willingness to use a knife on another person, who he knew had no opportunity to defend themselves, shows him to be a violent and dangerous offender.
"There can be no tolerance for those who choose to use, or carry, a knife and his immediate prison sentence is completely justified."
