Appeal for witnesses after serious crash involving motorcycle on A2 near Gravesend

An appeal has been made for witnesses after a man was left with serious injuries following a motorcycle crash on the A2.

The collision happened in the early hours of Sunday (March 23) on the London-bound carriageway, between Cobham and Gravesend.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene involving a motorcycle where a man in his 20s sustained serious injuries.

He was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

His next of kin have been informed.

Both carriageways were closed for several hours while emergency services were at the scene but the coastbound side reopened at around 9.30am.

The London-bound carriageway reopened just after 1pm.

Officers are now asking for witnesses and dashcam footage from anyone who was travelling in the area between midnight and 5am that night to assist in their investigation.

Police are also asking anyone who may have stopped at the scene but have not yet spoken to officers to come forward.
