A man was freed from his car by firefighters after his car hit a lamppost and overturned.

Emergency services were called to Council Avenue in Northfleet at around 3.15pm yesterday.

Police, paramedics, and four fire engines attended the scene where the vehicle was on its side.

Firefighters rescued the driver, who was treated for injuries and taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.

The injuries are not described as life-threatening.

Arrangements were made to recover the car.
