Police investigating a raid on the home of a 78-year-old pensioner which resulted in the death of a burglar are looking to trace a man.
Billy Jeeves, 28, of no fixed address, is being sought in connection with the aggravated burglary in Hither Green in which Henry Vincent was stabbed to death.
Two people entered the home of 78-year-old Richard Osborn-Brooks in South Park Crescent last Wednesday, where he lived with his disabled wife, Maureen.
One of the burglars was said to be armed with a screwdriver and forced the elderly man into the kitchen.
Mr Osborne-Brooks fatally stabbed Vincent, who initially fled the scene but collapsed in the street just yards from the house. He later died after suffering a stab wound to his upper body.
Now detectives have released an image of the second suspect they want to trace in connection with the incident.
Jeeves, who is linked to Swanley, Orpington and Cambridge, is also being sought in connection with a distraction burglary which was committed in Farningham High Street in November.
Father-of-three Vincent, who is linked to Swanley, Hextable and Orpington, was also wanted in connection with that incident.
Police also want to hear from anybody who may have seen his vehicle, a white Vauxhall Astra van with registration GU52 AXT in the days and hours before and after the burglary.
The van was found burnt out and destroyed on Saturday evening in Star Lane, near Hockingdon Lane in Orpington.
A Met Police spokeman said: "Detectives have released an image of a man they want to trace following an aggravated burglary in Lewisham.
"Billy Jeeves is being sought by police following the burglary, committed at an address in Hither Green."
Police have said Mr Osborn-Brooks, who was initially arrested on suspicion of murder, will not face any charges.
