Police are appealing for help in tracing a man wanted on suspicion of rape, who is thought to have connections in Gravesend.

Detectives from Rochdale CID want to speak to Jack Herring, born 9/1/89, of no fixed abode, in connection with the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Littleborough on February 13 2008.

He was arrested in April and was due to answer his bail on June 27 2008 when he went missing.

He is described as white, about 5ft 5in tall with a medium build, short dark hair, and a strong Irish accent.

He has previously lived in the Kent area and is thought to have connections with Gravesend in particular.
