Masked raiders escape with bookies' cash

TWO robbers who made off with cash from a Kent bookmakers are being hunted by police.

The pair, one of whom was armed with a knife, struck at the Tote Bookmakers in Leander Drive, Gravesend, at 5pm on Sunday.

The man with the knife stood at the doorway while the second man demanded staff hand over a large amount of cash.

The raiders, both of whom had their faces covered, then ran off down an alleyway next to the bookies.

The armed man is described as white, 5ft 9in tall and stocky. He was wearing a distinctive black crash helmet with an orange and red flame design.

The other man was also white but shorter and slim. His face was covered with a light-green scarf.
