A two-day model railway show featuring steam, diesel and electric trains attracted more than 600 rail enthusiasts of all ages.
The Gravesend Railway Enthusiasts' Society (GRES) model railway show was held over two days at Northfleet School for Girls earlier this month.
Event organiser George Marcar said: "It takes some time to arrange the show and ensure that our guests have an enjoyable time, so I was pleased to see so many people join us over the weekend and the smiles on their faces.
"The money raised will help GRES to continue to offer a society for local people who enjoy railways – real and model – and new members are welcome all the time.”
There were 15 railway layouts including Windmill Hill, a Thomas themed layout, and Gravesend West, which is based on the station in Gravesend that closed to passengers in 1953 and to freight in 1968.
Other attractions included science-fiction related models and 10 trade stands.
Preservation societies present included the 4DD Double Deck Group, 4SUB Double Deck Group, Network South East/Southern Electric Group, Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway and The Class 315 Preservation Society.
Hornby's Simon Kohler is due to give a talk entitled ‘Hornby and me’ at the next GRES meeting at the Emmanuel Baptist Church Hall, Windmill Street, Gravesend, at 7.45pm on Thursday, November 17.
All new members are welcome and the first meeting is free. For more details, click here. www.gres.org.uk
