England spin bowler Monty Panesar joined staff at Gravesend investment firm Kuflink and some top supercars to raise money and awareness for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
The cricket star and charity ambassador accompanied staff as they took a ride in a supercar convoy from their headquarters in West Street, Gravesend to Stillness Junior School in South London, where they gave children the chance to take a seat in the sports cars and practice their cricket skills with the England legend.
Monty and Kuflink representatives dressed in orange for Muscular Dystrophy UK's ‘Go Orange for a Day’ on Friday February 7, which helps raise awareness for the charity, bringing individuals, families and professionals together to fight muscle-wasting conditions.
Supercars in the convoy included a Lamborghini Diablo, a Ford GT, a Porsche 911, a Lamborghini Huracan and a Lamborghini Aventador.
The fundraising event is the latest in a long line of causes supported by the Kuflink Foundation, which works closely with Kent County Council and Gravesham Borough Council to provide education, health and sports initiatives.
"Today's Orange Day for muscular dystrophy," explained Monty. "We're raising money and awareness for the charity. Kuflink has kindly got involved with muscular dystrophy and we're very much looking forward to the whole day.
"Part of being an ambassador is to build awareness and help raise money for the charity. I got involved when the charity got in touch with me – they kindly asked if I would like to be involved during a cricket event at Lords and since then I've been very much involved."
