A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after a collision with a lorry on the A226 near Northfleet this morning.

Police and ambulance crews were called at 7.17am following reports of the collision outside the shell garage and Ebbsfleet United stadium, between Lower Road in Northfleet and Grove Road in Swanscombe.

South East Coast Ambulance Service tended to the motorcyclist at the scene before taking them to a local hospital.

The road was closed while crews attended but reopened by around 8.50am.
