Multiple motorists have been caught starting the new year off by speeding at more than 90mph.
One driver was issued with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR) after they passed an unmarked traffic vehicle on the A2 at Gravesend this morning.
Police officers followed and stopped the car for excess speed after they were clocked doing 96mph on a national speed limit road.
Not long after the Kent Police Roads force stopped a further two cars for the same offence.
One was spotted driving at 99mph and another at 95mph and were issued with TORs for excess speed.
The force said: "Seems to be the theme of the day today….a further two drivers issued with TORs for excess speed. #SpeedKills #Fatal4 #GoosenAmes."
The reports follow an incident from the early hours of this morning where a driver "flew past" police officers on the A2 at Darenth, near Dartford.
They clocked him as doing 97mph in a 50mph zone.
In addition, once stopped, the motorist admitted using cannabis and he proved positive for the drug when tested by officers on the roadside, police said.
He was arrested at the scene and samples were taken.
Police have been contacted for more information.
