MyFootballClub members are taking part in a vote this week that will have a huge bearing on Ebbsfleet United's future.
Until Saturday, members are voting on whether to increase annual subscriptions from £35 to £100.
Fleet chairman Duncan Holt (pictured) said: "From a purely business point of view, we would rather have 5,000 members paying £100 each than 10,000 paying £35.
"The result of this vote will give a real indication of where we can go. It is all about finding our optimal level."
A source close to the club said that if members were to vote to stay at a subscription level of £35, rather than increasing it to £100 or £10 a month, then the club would need to hastily arrange meetings to address the issue.
Other votes currently before members include the option to scrap the pick-the-team option and also an option to buy the MyFC website from its administrators in a move which could save the club thousands of pounds.
Mr Holt and vice-chairman Roly Edwards have been backed by more than 93 per cent of members to stay in their roles until March 1.
