Little Syena was a very special delivery for Huma Hussain and Hifzul Khahir when she was born on Christmas Day last year.
The couple, from Edwin Street, Gravesend, described their first child as “a lovely present”, and now plan to celebrate her first birthday with a party for more than 100 family and friends.
But along with the invitations, Huma and Hifzul, 28, have politely asked their guests to make sure Syena does not miss out just because two big occasions fall on one day.
“She will definitely be getting birthday and Christmas presents,” said mum Huma, 27. “Everybody else has two lots of presents, so why shouldn’t she just because her birthday is on Christmas Day?
“It is going to be expensive having to buy everything in one go, but she is worth every penny.”
Syena, who has just started to walk, was one of four babies born at Darent Valley Hospital on Christmas Day last year, and featured in the Messenger.
She was due on December 22, and was eventually delivered three days later by Caesarean at 6.02pm, weighing 7lb 2oz.
Since then, Huma has taken a photograph of her daughter every day, and has compiled a DVD to show at the party.
“She has changed our lives but it has been really good,” said Huma. “We have enjoyed every minute with her.”
