A toy shop which has been a part of childhood memories for more than four decades will shut this weekend.
Nuxley Toys in Milton Road, Gravesend, has confirmed it will be permanently closing on Saturday, after trading for more than 40 years.
Manager, Richard Ray, confirmed the news to customers on Facebook this week, after announcing in August last year the store would be closing.
At the time, the shop did not know how long it would stay open for but said it hoped to continue until the end of the year.
Richard, the son of owners Jean and Dave, posted online: "We can no longer do any more.
"We've had a wonderful time and would like to give our customers a massive thank you."
He said a number of factors had led to the closure, but changes to high street shopping and online trading were the main driving forces.
Selling modern day toys to collectables, party gear, Star Wars items, dolls and more, Nuxley Toys has made memories for all ages over the last four decades.
Richard added: "We're really going to miss everyone and we're really sad but we just want to give a big thumbs up and a big thank you to all our customers over the years."
Richard does not know what the future holds for his own career, or the shop building.
