The National Trust will be opening the doors of the Cobham Mausoleum for free tomorrow.
The mausoleum is in Cobham Heritage Park and was built in 1783 as a burial chamber for the Earls of Darnley, who owned the Cobham Estate and lived in Cobham Hall. It was never used.
It will be free to visit for Heritage Open Day on Sunday.
The Darnleys struggled to maintain the Cobham estate in the 20th century and the mausoleum fell into decline.
Funding of £150,000 was provided by Cobham Ashenbank Management Scheme (CAMS) and by 2007 restoration was complete.
Volunteers will be on hand at the South Lodge Barn from 11am to 5pm. A guided walk leaves the barn at 11.30am.
