Starbucks has revealed an opening date for its new town centre store.
The global coffee chain will be welcoming its first customers on Thursday (December 14) at its shop on the corner of New Road and the High Street, in Gravesend.
It was first advertised that the drinks company had taken over the empty unit four months ago with a poster reading: “We're opening soon.”
But this week, the brand’s signature green logo was finally put up above the door and white lettering was plastered on the wall of the former Woolworths store.
A sign has now been put up in the window confirming the store will be opening later next week.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Gravesham are expected to attend the official opening at 8.45am.
The store, which is directly opposite rival Costa, is still not advertised on the chain’s website and when asked, the company could not provide any further details on the opening.
Instead, a spokesman for Starbucks said: “We look forward to bringing the Starbucks Experience to customers in Gravesend in the near future.”
The closest Starbucks for Gravesend visitors was at Bluewater Shopping Centre, in Greenhithe, near Dartford.
