An opening date has been set for a new town centre Post Office after another branch closed earlier this year.
The store in the St Georges Centre, Gravesend, closed in March when WHSmith – where it was based – shut.
There were plans to relocate the store to a unit a few doors down in Kempthorne Street but these fell through due to "unexpected" changes.
After a lengthy search for a new home, an experienced postmaster, who already runs Roshville Post Office, was chosen to open the new town centre branch.
It will be opening at unit 32, next to BB's, on Thursday, December 8 at 1pm.
The branch will be low-screened and open-plan with a modern serving point that is part of the retail counter.
Sam Coe, Post Office network provision lead, said: "We are delighted to be restoring a full-time Post Office service to central Gravesend as we know how important a Post Office is to a community."
The branch will welcome customers for 59 hours a week. The opening hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm.
