A man and woman arrested on suspicion of setting a community cafe on fire have been released without charge.

The Woodlands Park cafe in Dashwood Road, Gravesend, went up in flames after a fire started on the roof at the beginning of September.

A 29-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and arson on September 6, and bailed pending further inquiries.

But the pair were released without charge last Thursday, October 20, and no further action will be taken against them.

Students from local schools had helped renovate the cafe, which re-opened in October last year, after being closed for several years.
