The parents of Edward Barry - the 14-year-old boy found dead at a Gravesend home - have paid tribute to their son.
The teenager's body was discovered at an address in Parrock Street on Friday, although a post mortem examination failed to establish how he died.
In a statement, Patrick and Justine Barry said: "Ed was a very much-loved son, brother and friend. He attended Gravesend Grammar School for Boys and will undoubtedly be greatly missed there, too.
"Kent Police have launched an investigation into his death and we as a family are fully supportive of their actions in doing this."
Ed's friends have laid flowers in Parrock Street and hundreds of tributes have been posted on Facebook.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police is awaiting the results of a toxicology report and investigations continue. An inquest is due to be opened early next week."
