A man was punched in the face and his mobile phone and wallet stolen in the early hours of this morning.

It is alleged a robbery took place in Milton Road, Gravesend at 2.30am.

More than four hours later, an area was cordoned off outside Cumberland Villas in Milton Road, Gravesend on the corner of Cumberland Avenue.

A police spokeswoman said: "Officers were informed of the incident at 6.51am and forensic examiners attended the scene of the reported robbery to carry out investigations.

"Enquiries into the alleged offence continue."
