A pervert found with 20 images showing someone carrying out sexual acts with dogs on his phone had “nothing to say” when quizzed in court.
Police seized David Lowman’s mobile phone after investigations led them to his home in Gravesend where they found the extreme pornographic images on the device.
The 19-year-old was charged and admitted possession of extreme pornographic images when he appeared in court in December.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentencing report to be completed on him before he was sentenced and he returned to Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (January 2) to learn his fate.
Lucie Fish, prosecuting, told the court Lowman, of Hawthorne Close, was found with 20 images on August 3 last year.
She added: “It’s a single charge of extreme pornography after inquiries led to the seizure of his phone.
“There were 20 extreme images which showed a person involved in oral sex with an animal.
“He doesn’t have any previous convictions and he had just turned 18 when this happened.
Asked by the magistrates if he had anything to say about his crime, Lowman who was unrepresented said: “I have nothing to say.”
Magistrates said they had read the pre-sentencing report and because of his early guilty plea and the fact he was of previous good character meant they would go along with the report recommendations of a community order.
As a result, they placed Lowman on an 18-month order which will see him complete 30 rehabilitation sessions.
He was also fined £40 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114, as well as £85 court costs.
Lowman will pay what he owes the court at a rate of £20 a month as he’s on benefits.
