More than 1,000 people packed Gravesend town centre to watch a re-enactment of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection.

Spectators lined New Road and King Street on Good Friday when members of Churches Together in Gravesham played out the 2,000-year-old tale.

The procession, led by Pontius Pilate and his Roman soldiers, followed Jesus from St George’s Church and up Bath Street to a spot outside the old Woolworths building.
