This is the dramatic moment police arrested a man at the side of the A2 during rush-hour traffic.

Officers detained the 36-year-old man suspected to have an "offensive weapon" at Cobham.

Kent Police said they had received reports about concerns for his welfare this morning.

He was held on the London-bound carriageway at about 8.40am on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, criminal damage and theft.

The man is in police custody.
