Another 100 homes have been given the green light for a growing garden city.
The mixture of 50 houses and 50 flats will be built by Bellway Homes on land next to Craylands Lane in Swanscombe.
The plans for the site, which has been derelict for more than a decade, were approved this evening by Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, the body which oversees planning of the area's garden city.
A separate scheme to redevelop an industrial estate, creating up to 90 jobs, was also given the go-ahead.
Proposals to demolish the Rod End Industrial Estate in Northfleet, replacing it with modern buildings, have been approved.
The plans put forward by Benrose Property will create 19 new commercial units on the site, which is only a quarter occupied at present.
More than 1,300 homes have been completed as part of the Ebbsfleet Garden City project, as well as a new primary school, pub and hotel.
The government had announced plans to build 15,000 homes there over 15 years back in 2014.
Plans for a second pub and hotel are due to be submitted early next year and plans are being drawn up for a £5 5million primary and secondary school campus in the Eastern Quarry near Bluewater.
