Two people are due in court today after a woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries when police were called to a burglary.

Officers were called out at just before 10am yesterday amid reports a burglary was under way in Medhurst Gardens, Gravesend.

While there, they also investigated an assault to a woman who lives in the house.

She has been taken to a hospital in London for injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.

Marc Foreman, 40, of Ivy Close, Gravesend has been charged with GBH and drink driving.

Louise Foreman, 38, of Ivy Close, is also charged with GBH.

The pair were expected to appear before magistrates at Medway later today.
