A police helicopter and sniffer dogs were called out last night to look for a man in connection with an alleged assault.

Officers were assisted by the chopper as they headed to Higham at around 11pm.

Residents said police with sniffer dogs were seen in Peggotty Close and Brice Road, with the former being shut for a while.

Another witness said they heard a man and woman shouting minutes before police arrived.

Police spokesman Martin Very said: "A search of the area was completed assisted by the police helicopter, however, the man remains outstanding and inquiries are ongoing."
