Police have seized £16,000 in cash from a car following a routine stop and search operation.

Officers were in Gravesend yesterday just before 5pm conducting road checks with HMRC and immigration officials.

They stopped a vehicle on the A228 Cuxton Road and seized a large quantity of cash totalling £16,000.

No arrests have been made but enquiries continue.
