Success can be measured in many ways, but for electrical resellers Electronic Products Network Ltd, it’s been the increased demand for its services necessitating a move to new premises.
This year the company moved from Stone Street, Gravesend, to the town’s Springhead Enterprise Park.
The company was a start-up nearly four years ago at a time of recession and with no initial investment whatsoever.
Now it is registered by global manufacturers including Dell, Epson, Panasonic and Philips to name but a few, as their listed company and exports are worldwide. The types of goods range from toasters to computers, televisions to coffee machines and ink cartridges.
Commercial director Dexter Coleman-Mitchell said: “We are constantly exceeding our own expectations.
“Myself and fellow director Sam Fathers now know first-hand just how difficult it really is to get a business off the ground, particularly with no investment and at a time of national recession. We were working in dead end jobs and decided to take a chance and make a change.
“Now, to be able to get up every morning and come to work in such a fast-paced work environment filled with the positive energy of a hand-picked team working well and bouncing ideas off each other, makes us reflect on the company’s previous hard times. We have a long way to go, but our team of eight will help us get there.”
On a community note, the company works actively with local educational bodies to take on apprentices and encourage staff to train while they work. Local sponsorship includes Old Gravesendians RFC and Colyer Colts U13’s FC.
This just one of the companies to enter this year’s Dartford and Gravesham Business Awards. Each entrant gets a free profile in our papers and online.
Entries have now closed but you can find out more at www.dgbawards.co.uk. This year’s sponsors are Barnes Roffe, Dartford council, Gravesham council, KM Media Group, Lloyds Bank, Thomson Snell and Passmore, University of Greenwich and JonesFM.
