A child groomer who targeted his victim for months has been jailed for five years.
Terry Knott admitted three charges of sexual activity with a minor at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday (March 5).
The 32-year-old, from Gravesend, was arrested in December after police received allegations he had committed the offences over the preceding two months.
In total, Knott was given five years and three months behind bars – he will also be placed on the sex offenders’ register and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order indefinitely.
Investigating officer, PC Henry Skinner said: “Knott spent time grooming his young victim and once he had gained their trust, committed these appalling crimes.
“His offending will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the child who showed incredible courage in disclosing their ordeal.
“Knott must now face the consequences of his actions as he starts a lengthy prison sentence.”
