The Duke of Sussex has met with a Kent youth group to hear personal stories about the impact of social media on their mood, well-being and social interactions.
Members of Gifted Young Gravesham (GYG) went to London to talk to Prince Harry about online safety.
GYG, based at The Grand in King Street, Gravesend, is a partner organisation to 5Rights Foundation, which is an ally of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Archewell Foundation, dedicated to improving online safety for young people.
The Archewell Foundation is a non-profit organisation set up by the Sussexes in 2020. It aims to "uplift and unite communities" through compassion and has given grants to organisations such as mental health charity Mind and the Genesis Women's Shelter.
The meeting happened during his visit to the UK with wife Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, in September.
Archewell released a statement about the meeting with the "amazing young people" at GYG, highlighting the foundation's "ongoing commitment to a future of tech that works for families".
It continued: "The young adults shared personal stories about how social media affects their mood, well-being and interactions with peers, teachers, and family.
'Thank you to Archewell Foundation for meeting with our incredible young people...'
"These important stories and experiences continue to help leaders contextualize the global conversation around online harms and inspire new partnerships, ideas and policies for solving the challenges young people and parents face in a digital world."
A GYG spokesman said: "Prince Harry invited us to meet him in London recently to talk to our youth committee about online safety for young people everywhere.
"We shared personal stories about how social media can affect each one of us, our well-being and how we interact with those around us.
"GYG’s young members have contributed to global discussions about digital safety since 2019, working with 5Rights Foundation who advocate the need to keep young people safe online.
"Thank you to Archewell Foundation for meeting with our incredible young people."
