Plans to reinvigorate Gravesend are still steaming ahead, if only behind the scenes, developers have assured.
Gravesend’s Heritage Quarter is a multimillion-pound project to transform the town with 330 eco-friendly homes, shops and restaurants, a 50-bedroom hotel, underground parking and public gardens.
First phase of the regeneration will focus in the area between Queen Street and the High Street, and to the rear of Gravesend Borough Market.
An exact start date has yet to be revealed but the developer, Edinburgh House, has sent out assurances that a lot of work is being done behind the scenes, in discussion with bodies such as Kent County Council and Highways teams.
There is a big meeting next month to agree the next step, and the developer has said for a number of months that building work should get under way during the first half of this year.
