A HUSBAND and wife have appeared in court after a man was stabbed between 40 and 50 times on Gravesend's Promenade.
The couple were charged on Saturday, and police charged three more people on Sunday. All appeared before Dartford Magistrates Court yesterday.
Kamaljit Singh Kolan, 31, died after being stabbed repeatedly in broad daylight at the entrance to Gordon Park in Gravesend on July 10 at 8.10pm.
It happened just yards from where families were enjoying the early evening sun.
Surinder Lehal, 39, of Edwin Street in Gravesend, has been charged with murder. His 36-year-old wife, Bhupinder Lehal, of the same address, has been charged with conspiracy to murder.
Brothers Daljit, 24, and Manjinder from Edwin Street, Gravesend, and Parvindar Thind, 29, from Valetta Way, Rochester, stood accused of attempting to kidnap and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Mr Kolan was taken to Darent Valley Hospital, where he later died.
