A spook-tacular charity event is to take place in Gravesend during the October half term.
The Halloween Pumpkin Hunt has been organised by Demelza Hospice Care for Children and will be staged in Gravesend on Friday, October 25.
Families are being urged to book their tickets now as places are filling fast.
Two hunts are setting off from Gravesend Borough Market, High Street at 11am and 12pm.
Demelza pumpkin hunts will also take place in Tenterden, West Malling, Sevenoaks, Whitstable, Chislehurst, Rochester, Hailsham and Blackheath.
For each event, pumpkins will be on display with various retailers and at local landmarks and children will be required to hunt for them, while picking up treats from shops and businesses along the way, including Kent Messenger's Gravesend office.
The event is being sponsored by Mug and Meeple and Marie’s Tea Room.
Children are encouraged to wear fancy dress with lots of witch, wizard, bat, cat and monster costumes expected.
The best Halloween costume in each location will win a prize and winners from each town will then be judged against each other for the chance of winning a £250 voucher from John Lewis, kindly donated by Active International.
The whole family are invited along for some frightfully good fun.
The hunt takes around one hour to complete and is open to children aged three to 11, costing £5 per child and every child's place includes two accompanying adults free of charge.
Tamsyn Clark, Demelza’s director of fundraising and marketing, said: “This is a lovely family event which we promise is not scary at all. It will be lots of family fun and a great way to entertain your children during October half term and a safe way to take your children trick or treating, with less tricks and more treats. The event will raise much needed funds for Demelza as well.”
Money raised will go to Demelza Hospice Care for Children, a charity which provides specialist care and emotional support for children with terminal conditions and their loved ones, so they can enjoy their time together as a family, for as long as they have.
Each event is being sponsored and supported by local businesses.
