How are your New Year’s resolutions going?
While most grown-ups are struggling to get out of bed in January and February, the children of Gad’s Hill school have been busy putting them to shame by taking part in special challenges, showing off new musical skills and promoting healthy eating.
Last month saw the school welcome Kent and Medway junior school children, who joined Gad’s Year 6s on a challenge day at the independent school, ahead of joining Gad’s senior school this September.
The 10-11 year-olds took part in a series of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) workshops with the school’s Science and Combined Cadet Force staff.
January also came to an end with the annual developing musicians concert, which showcased the talents of more than 40 pupils, who each selected their preferred instrument - many choosing drums - or opted to sing.
The school’s also been doing its bit for the community - with catering team donating fresh seasonal produce to the 1st Higham Beaver and Cub Scouts who made fruit kebabs as part of a wellbeing challenge for their health and fitness activity badge.
