Pupils at a Gravesham primary school have been tested for swine flu.

Six youngsters from Meopham Community Primary School have been tested for the virus.

At the start of the week seven pupils from year six were off with flu-like symptoms, following a school trip to Surrey.

Two of the pupils have tested negative, with the other results still to be returned.

All but one of the children have since returned to school, with the seventh still off as a precautionary measure.

The school, in Longfield Road, Meopham, has advised all other pupils to come in as normal unless they feel unwell. While parents have been contacted to advise them of the on-going situation.

Head teacher Martin Clinton said: "I imagine over the weekend there were a few concerned parents, there is nothing worse than seeing your children unwell."

There are now 78 confirmed cases of the virus in Kent.
