Rain in store for B&Q customers

STAFF and customers at B&Q did not let if dampen their spirits when a sprinkler head burst in store.

Crews from Thames-side Fire Station were called to Gravesend's Imperial Business Park Store in Clifton Marine Parade on Tuesday afternoon after water drenched the aisles.

Staff cordoned off the area but were able to trade as normal while firefighters helped to clean up the spillage.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “Someone had come to test the sprinkler system and it went off. The water covered the middle of the store where the plaster is kept. It did cause a bit of a mess.”

No customers were thought to have been affected by the unexpected shower.
