Person rescued from kitchen fire in Clifton Road, Gravesend

A person had to be rescued from a flat after a fire started in their kitchen.

Three fire engines attended the blaze in Clifton Road, Gravesend, at around 6.19pm last night.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued one person from the property and used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, which were out by 7.19pm.

The person was passed into the care of paramedics after inhaling smoke.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
