Ebbsfleet United striker Ricky Shakes played the full 90 minutes as Guyana lost a 2014 World Cup qualifying game 4-0 at home to Costa Rica.
Two goals in six minutes from Alvaro Saborio midway through the first half gave the hosts a mountain to climb in the National Stadium in Georgetown, and the striker completed his hat-trick seven minutes after the break before Joel Campbell added the fourh 14 minutes from time.
It left Guyana bottom of North, Central America and Caribbean Group B.
Shakes (pictured), 27, had played 71 minutes as the Golden Jaguars went down 3-1 against Mexico in Mexico City on Friday night.
Guyana's next qualifier for Brazil 2014 is in El Salvador in September.
