Hundreds of jobs could be created as part of renewed plans for a new riverside development which includes more than 200 homes and space for start-up businesses.
Permission for the regeneration of Clifton Slipways in Gravesend was originally given in 2016, but work never began.
Quinn Estates are now heading the revised proposals and say job creation is at the heart of the project. It could create more than 280 jobs.
The site earmarked for regeneration, located either side of West Street, includes a Victorian iron pier that hasn't been used for decades.
The blueprints include 226 apartments as well as The Pierworks, a new hub for start-up businesses that will generate 60 jobs and provide a long-term future for the former West Street Pier.
Quinn Estates also say that 117 direct jobs and 104 indirect jobs will be created in the construction phase.
Huw Evans, managing director at Quinn Estates, said: “Through the restoration of the historic pier, creation of direct and indirect jobs and 6,000 sq ft of new business floorspace, our proposals have the potential to make a major contribution to the wider regeneration of Gravesend.”

The plans include car parking and cycle storage, investment to improving flood defences.
The developer hopes that the residential element of the project, providing homes for an estimated 340 people, will offset costs of bringing the derelict pier into the public use
Quinn Estates held a public exhibition at St George's Church Hall for residents and businesses.
Mr Evans added: “We want to thank everyone who came along to the public consultation.
"Quinn Estates are committed to delivering community led schemes and want to engage with local residents and businesses to hear their thoughts on the proposals."
