Residents will be asked what they thinks about plans to create a new riverside quarter near Ebbsfleet United football club.
Ebbsfleet Development Corporation is looking at redeveloping the Grove Road area of Northfleet and is launching a six-week consultation to gauge opinion.
Plans could include 450 new homes, up to a third of which will be affordable, restaurants, employment space, new and improved roads, a new park and better access to the riverside.
Last year, 530 homes were approved for Ebbsfleet Garden City in nearby Northfleet West and one of the key aspects of the Development Corporation’s proposals is to build on those approved plans by including a larger area and creating wider regeneration benefits. The enlarged site could accommodate 980 homes overall.
The proposal will open up part of the Thames that has not been accessible for more than 100 years.
The consultation starts on Monday. Full details are on ebbsfleetdc.org.uk/groveroad/
There will also be two events where the public can see the proposals and speak to officers. They will be at Ebbsfleet United Football Club from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, June 23, and at Northfleet Veterans Club from 2pm to 8pm on Friday, July 13.
Those taking part in the consultation also have the chance to be entered into a competition to win a healthy food hamper.
