A road is closed in both directions after a large chemical spill near the A2.
The A2260 was shut between the roundabouts at the Ebsfleet turning off the A2 Watling Street after a lorry carrying malic acid shed its load.
Environment Agency workers and police are overseeing the clear-up operation, but drivers have been told to expect delays in the area, and use an alternative route.
It is not thought anyone has been injured.
Malic acid is used as a food additive to impart a sour taste.
