Roadworks blamed for causing huge delays on the A2 at Gravesend are scheduled to continue tonight and tomorrow.

Commuters reported massive queues on the London-bound carriageway at the B255 Bluewater/Bean interchange this morning.

The works had been due to end at 7am, but didn't finish until around 8.30am.

Congestion was particularly bad from the A2 Watling Street to Thong Lane (Cobham) and was made worse by a vehicle which broke down in the area.

The works are scheduled to continue between 10pm and 6am and also tomorrow night.
