Police are investigating a raid on a town centre jeweller's this afternoon at the height of the afternoon trading.
Police were called to Blackwell Jewellers & Pawnbrokers in the High Street in Gravesend, at 2:04pm this afternoon.
There were no signs of forced entry to the front of the shop, but one witness claimed they saw two men “rushing” the store.
Staff were then threatened with a weapon, understood to be a knife.
Police say a man then left the store with an unspecified quantity of jewellery.
Nearby traders said police had been questioning staff working in the High Street following the alleged robbery.
